Four more Cougars qualify for Nationals

AUSTIN, Texas – On day two of the NCAA Track and Field West Preliminary Round, four members of the BYU men’s and women’s track teams advanced to Nationals. Four members of the men's team and three from the women's team have now qualified for the NCAA Outdoor National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ryan Waite claimed his spot at Nationals by finishing 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:48.80. Chris Carter finished seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 50.38 to qualify.
BYU's 800 meter duo of Nachelle Mackie and Lacey Bleazard rounded out the Cougars that qualified for Nationals. Mackie was the top finisher with a time of 2:02.64 while Bleazard finished ninth with a time of 2:06.99.
