Women's Track Holds Annual Banquet

PROVO, Utah -- After sweeping the Mountain West Conference indoor and outdoor titles, the BYU women’s track and field team held their annual banquet and celebrated the 2011 season.

In 2011, BYU won both MWC titles for the third consecutive year and placed 15th at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Junior Lacey Bleazard also won her second career NCAA National Championship in the 800 meters.

Head coach Patrick Shane, in his first season as head track and field coach, earned MWC Coach of the Year following both the indoor and outdoor season. On June 8, Shane will lead six BYU athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The following team awards were given to the athletes that helped continue BYU’s winning tradition during the 2011 season.
