Lott Hogan Inducted Into Utah Sports Hall of Fame

PROVO -- Former BYU track and field athlete Tiffany Lott Hogan was inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Tuesday night, 12 years after completing her athletic career at BYU.

“Getting inducted (into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame) is pretty amazing,” Lott Hogan said. “I was surprised when I first heard I would be inducted and I am honored to be put in the same class as so many great athletes.”

Lott Hogan competed as a Cougar from 1994-1998, earning 10 All-American honors in the process. A native of Leeds, Utah, Lott Hogan prepped at Pine View High School where she earned seven individual state titles.

During her time at BYU Lott Hogan won two NCAA titles. The first came in the 55-meter hurdles in an NCAA Championships record time of 7.39 seconds. Her second NCAA title came in the outdoor heptathlon in 1998 when she scored 6,211 points to take first.

After graduating, Lott Hogan continued to pursue a track and field career. She tried out for the 2000 Olympic team but narrowly missed the cut. Four years later, Lott Hogan succeeded in making the 2004 Olympic team and competed in Athens after becoming a mother.

Lott Hogan continues to work in track and field as the head women’s coach at Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah.
