Javelin throwers set to open outdoor season at UNLV Spring Opener

PROVO, Utah – Three BYU track and field javelin throwers will open the 2021 outdoor season at the UNLV Spring Opener on Saturday, March 6 at the Myron Partridge Stadium.

Meet Information

All-American Ashton Riner, Payge Jauhiainen and Cameron Bates will all compete in the javelin to open the outdoor season for the Cougars. This will be their first opportunity to compete since the 2019 outdoor season after the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rest of the BYU track and field program will open its season after the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships (March 11-13) and the NCAA Cross Country Championships (March 15). The Cougars will travel back down to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invitational that will take place March 18-20.
