USATF names Williams head athletic trainer

INDIANAPOLIS – BYU track and field’s head athletic trainer Dustin Williams was named the USA Track and Field head athletic trainer for the 2019 IAAF World Relays.
This marks the sixth time since 2014 that Williams has been selected to be a head athletic trainer by USATF. The most notable selection came in 2016 when he was named the USATF head athletic trainer for the Rio Summer Olympics.
After being on the USATF athletic training staff for the 2009 and 2011 Outdoor World Championships, Williams was chosen to be the head athletic trainer for the US National Track and Field Team for the first time ahead of the 2014 Indoor World Championships. Since then, he has been the USATF head athletic trainer at the 2015 Outdoor World Championships, 2017 Outdoor World Championships and 2018 Indoor World Championships.
Williams rejoined BYU track and field in 2018 as the head athletic trainer after previously working on the team’s athletic training staff from 2006-11.
The 2019 IAAF World Relays will take place May 11-12 at the Yokohama International Stadium in Yokohama, Japan. Information on the meet can be found on iaaf.org. The full announcement of the USATF staff for the competition can be found on usatf.org.
