PROVO, Utah – BYU track and field will compete at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Arizona, April 5-6.

“We’re excited to have some good conditions down in the warm Arizona weather,” BYU head coach Ed Eyestone said. “We hope to keep things rolling after having one of the best weekends of competition last week.”

The fourth-ranked BYU men’s team and 24th-ranked BYU women’s team will send all of their event groups to compete at the Sun Angel Stadium. The Cougars are coming off a four-meet weekend where the team had 29 potential regional-qualifying marks.

Eyestone is excited for the field athletes to get a chance to compete in better weather after last week’s UVU Invite was impacted by rain and snow. The head coach specifically expects All-American Andrea Stapleton-Johnson as well as throwers Jefferson Jarvis and Jacob Foutz to continue to build on the strong performances they’ve had this season.

Michael Bluth will be competing in his first 400m of the outdoor season this weekend. Bluth ran the second-fastest indoor 400m in school history earlier this year with a time of 46.58.

A group of four decathletes consisting of Ben Barton, Brian Matthews, Dallin Vorkink and Caleb Witsken will compete at the Jim Click Combined Events meet. The meet will take place April 4-5 at the University of Arizona’s Drachman Stadium in Tucson, Arizona.
