BYU track and field completes first day of USC Trojan Invitaitonal
LOS ANGELES – The BYU track and field team completed the first day of competition at the USC Trojan Invitational in Los Angeles on Friday.
Maddie Cannon earned a personal record with a first place finish in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:21.37.
Dailyn Johnson threw a personal best to earn first place in the discus with a mark of 47.93m.
Siale Vaitohi-Teaupa came in second in the hammer throw at 56.84m.
Clayson Shumway earned a regional qualifying time with a first place finish in the 3000m steeplechase (8:50.64). Porter Reddish finished second at 8:59.73.
Multi-event athletes, pole vaulters, jumpers and some middle-distance runners competed at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento. Today's competition involved some of the events of the multi-events.
