The Curtis Pugsley Award is BYU Track and Field’s highest honor and is given annually to one male and one female student athlete. The winners are determined based on a scoring system that takes into account each athlete's accomplishments in the previous indoor and outdoor season.

Former middle distance runner Shaquille Walker and high jumper Zachary Blackham are the finalists for the men, and middle distance runner Shea Martinez Collinsworth and hurdler Alyssa Monteverde Dalton are the women's finalists.

Walker finished his career at BYU as the school record holder in the indoor 800 meters with a time of 1:46.97, set in 2016.
