Stewart second Cougar to make Team U.S.A.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Freshman Rachel Stewart qualified for the 2013 Pan American Junior Championships Saturday at the 2013 U.S.A. Track and Field Championships held in Des Moines, Iowa, at Drake University.

Stewart took second in the junior women’s 1500-meter run with a time of 4:28.92. Stewart joins Marcus Dickson as the second Cougar to make the U.S. Junior Track and Field squad, as Dickson took second in the junior men’s 800-meter run on Friday.

Stewart and Dickson will compete in their respective events August 23-25 in Medellin, Colombia.
