Simmons 11th at U.S.A. Junior Championships
DES MOINES, Iowa – BYU freshman Brie Simmons finished 11th in the junior women’s heptathlon Thursday at the 2013 U.S.A. Track and Field Championships, held in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University. Simmons finished with 4709 points, the second highest score of her career.
Also competing on Thursday for the Cougars was junior All-American Kelsey Brown. Brown failed to advance to the second round of the senior women’s 800-meter run as she finished seventh in her heat and 30th overall with a time of 2:07.30.
The Cougars have one athlete competing on Friday, freshman Rachel Stewart in the junior women’s 1500-meter semifinal.
