Brown finishes third in 800m with another personal-best time

WALNUT, Calif. – Kelsey Brown led the distance runners during the second day of the Mt. Sac Relays Friday with a third-place overall finish in the 800 meters at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.

Brown finished third in her heat with a new personal-best time of 2:06.53. This is an improvement from her last race at the Mid-Major of 2:06.83, which was also a personal best at the time. Also competing in the 800 was Nicole Rudd Bringhurst. Bringhurst finished ninth in her heat, 64th overall, with a time of 2:17.93.

Meanwhile at the Utah State Faldmo Invitational, Meaghan Heffelfinger placed third in the hammer throw with new a personal-best mark of 50.16 meters (164-07.00).

Brown and Bringhurst will compete in another section of the 800 at Mt. Sac on Saturday, and the rest of the BYU squad will continue competition at Utah State.
