Wilson sits in third after first day of heptathlon
BERKELEY, Calif. – After the first day of competition at the Cal Multi-Event meet, Elizabeth Wilson sits in third place in the heptathlon with 2,987 points.
Wilson's strongest performance of the day came in the shot put. She finished first in the event with a throw of 12.35 meters.
She also finished third in the high jump (1.64m), fifth in the 200-meter dash (26.57) and 11th in the 100-meter hurdles (15.54).
Brie Simmons and Sidney Reilly, who are also competing in the heptathlon, currently rank sixth and 15th after the first day of competition. Simmon's strongest performance came in the 200, finishing third with a time of 26.26.
FreshmenReilly performed best in the high jump, finishing eighth overall with a height of 1.55m.
The three Cougars continue competition in the heptathlon on Thursday.
