PROVO, Utah – Senior Savannah Ware-Avina and freshman Samantha Smith were named the West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week for Feb. 13-19 after Saturday's doubles victory in BYU's 4-0 win over Boise State.

Playing at second doubles for the Cougars, Ware-Avina and Smith defeated the Broncos' Hanna Kantenwein and Wiktoria Nosek 6-0 to help BYU to a standout victory over Boise State.

Ware-Avina, a native of Thousand Oaks, California, and Smith, from Henderson, Nevada, have played together in all four of BYU's dual matches during the 2017 season and hold a 3-1 record. The pair also saw success playing together in the fall season and are 10-4 all-time as a duo.

Ware-Avina leads all active players for BYU with 64 singles victories and 44 doubles wins.

Smith has started off strong in her first season at BYU and has earned 10 singles victories and 11 doubles wins.
