Nabieva receives WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention
PROVO, Utah – After completing her first season at BYU, junior Natella Nabieva earned 2015-16 West Coast Conference All-Academic Honorable Mention, the league announced Thursday.
Nabieva, from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, is a pre-management student and maintains a 3.55 GPA. In her first season for the Cougars, Nabieva earned a 9-11 singles record, playing mostly at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, and a 5-12 doubles record.
Before transferring to BYU at the start of the Winter 2016 semester, Nabieva spent the first two years of her collegiate career at the State College of Florida, where she was named the Florida College System Activities Association Player of the Year in the state and region.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
