Miclat falls in semifinals
TEMPE, Ariz. – Sophomore Toby Miclat advanced to the semifinals of the Sparky Draw Consolation bracket Saturday but fell to Alex Osborne of ASU 6-2, 7-5. In her quarterfinal match, Miclat beat Annie Wierda of Michigan 7-6 (5), 6-1.
Morgan Anderson-Littlewood, Meghan Sheehan-Dizon and Nicolette Tran all competed Saturday but fell in their matches. Anderson-Littlewood came up short in the Maroon Draw Consolation quarterfinals, losing to ASU’s Ebony Panoho 6-3, 6-1. Sheehan-Dizon and Tran both participated in the Sparky Draw Consolation Back Draw. Sheehan-Dizon lost to Stephane Lin of Cal 6-2, 6-2 and Tran fell to Jordan Denesik of Northern Arizona 7-5, 6-2.
The Cougars return home to prepare for their regular season in January. They will open up the season in Houston on Jan. 17 playing Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.
