No. 71 BYU faces in-state rival No. 44 Utah

PROVO, Utah--Coming off an upset win at home, No. 71 BYU women’s tennis is on the road against No. 49 Utah, Wednesday at 5 p.m. MST at the Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City.
 
Tomorrow’s Deseret Duel match pits the Cougars (2-3) against their third ranked opponent of the season in the Utes (4-1). BYU holds the advantage all-time against Utah with a 36-11 record, but the last win against the in-state rival came in the 2009 season.
 
BYU is coming off its home-opening win against No. 50 Denver, 6-1. The last time they beat a top-50 team was Jan. 23, 2009, upsetting No. 44 Washington State at home also  by the score of 6-1. 
 
Last week, Utah beat the Pioneers as well, but by the score of 5-2. Both the Cougars and the Utes have each beaten Boise State by match scores of 4-3 and 5-2, respectively.

BYU continues its season on the road against No. 44 UC Irvine, Feb. 28 at 1:30 p.m. PST.
