Cougars drop match against No. 55 Denver

EUGENE, Ore. - In its second match in two days, the BYU women’s tennis team lost to No. 55 Denver 6-1 on Saturday.

The Cougars (5-4) started the match strong, winning the doubles point. Playing for the first time together, sisters Desiree Tran and Nicolette Tran topped Emma Isberg and Mandy van den Eerenbeemt 8-6.
BYU secured the point when seniors Aubrey Paul and Andie Young defeated Caroline Schnell and Charlotte Derbyshire 8-4 on Court 3.
But in singles play, Denver (7-2) swept the competition. On Court 1, Desiree Tran forced Sophia Bergner to three sets but failed to come out on top.
Nicolette Tran fell to van den Eerenbeemt 6-1, 6-1 on Court 4 in just her second singles match of the season.
The Cougars travel to Hawaii next week to face BYU-Hawaii on Thursday and Hawaii on Saturday.
