Cougars Maintain Hold of 14th Place

LAIE -- The BYU women’s golf team maintained its position in round two of the Turtle Bay Collegiate Invitational, staying in 14th place with at +38 overall. The Cougars improved their stroke total by two shots with a round of 20-over-par.

Just one day after four of the five Cougars all recorded scores of 77, three BYU golfers once again stuck together, this time with 3-over-par 75s. Sophomore Maggie Yuan and junior Amanda Keith each recorded two birdies on their way to the their respective 75s while freshman Kelsey Vines posted three.

All three Cougars improved their scores from day one. Overall, Yuan and Vines are both +8 overall to tie for 38th while Keith is +13, tying for 73rd.

Junior Jade Bollinger was +9 on the day to move to 14-over-par overall, in sole possession of 78th place. Senior Shayla Forsey went 11-over-par and finished the day tied for 82nd at +16 overall. Junior Emily Copier, competing independently, posted an 82 on the day and is +19 for the tournament, tied for 88th.

The Cougars will play their final round of the tournament and the fall season on Wednesday.
