Anderson collects first collegiate win, BYU takes second at Riverside Classic
PROVO, Utah — BYU sophomore Adeline Anderson (69-77-69—215) survived a sudden-death playoff to earn her first collegiate win at the BYU Riverside Classic on Tuesday at Riverside Country Club. The Cougars finished second after shooting 293-293-290—876.
Anderson held the 18-hole lead after firing a 3-under 69 in the opening round but fell into 14th by the end of day one after a 77 in the afternoon round on Monday. After a bogey on the par-4 2nd, the sophomore proceeded to shoot a bogey-free 4-under on her final 16 holes to tie for first through 54 holes with Sacramento State's Sienna Lynford.
Anderson and Lynford returned to the 18th hole for a sudden-death playoff where both hit the green in regulation, giving each a look at birdie from inside 20 feet. After Lynford missed her birdie offering from about 20 feet, Anderson dripped her birdie putt over the front lip of the cup for the individual title.
No. 59 Sacramento State (288-283-301—872) posted an 8-over-par total to take home the team championship by four shots over No. 70 BYU who finished runner-up at 12-over. No. 37 Denver and No. 80 New Mexico State finished tied for third with No. 93 San Diego State rounding out the top-5.

Lila Galeai turned in the low round of the tournament on the final day with a 4-under 68 to finish tied for 14th with rounds of 76-76-68—220.
Kerstin Ngakuru and Alexa Udom shot rounds of 73-79-74—226 and 75-74-77—226, respectively, for a 10-over-par total to finish tied for 29th. Sunbin Seo rounded out the scoring for the Cougars with a 41st-place finish after shooting 78-77-79—234.
