Cougars Keep Pace With Tough Competition

LAS -- In a field featuring 13 ranked teams, the BYU women’s golf team completed round two in 17th place led by junior Jade Bollinger. The third round of the tournament will be completed on Wednesday.

Bollinger went 4-over-par in the second round of play with four birdies. After a round-two score of +5, Bollinger is currently tied for 57th overall at 9-over-par through 36 holes.

Freshman Kelsey Vines was right behind Bollinger on the day at +5 with three birdies just one day after not being able to get under par on any hole in the first round. Her combined score of +11 left her tied for 66th.

Sophomore team co-captain Maggie Yuan continued her impressive play after going 1-under on day one. After a round-two score of +8, Yuan still led all Cougars scorers at +7 for the tournament, tied for 40th.

Senior Shayla Forsey was one stroke back of Yuan’s second-round score at +9 with two birdies, bringing her two-day total to 15-over-par. Freshman Amanda Keith went +13 on Tuesday to move to +18 for the event while freshman Jenteal Jackson, competing independently is +12 overall after going 7-over-par in the second round.
