Hocker and Huang named 2015-16 Golf All-American Scholars
PROVO, Utah — The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) named Brooklyn Hocker and Rose Huang as 2015-16 All-American Scholars on Tuesday.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and Hocker and Huang were recognized with the significant honor. All-American Scholar Team members are required to have at least a 3.50 GPA and must have completed in at least half of the team’s competitions.
Huang and Hocker both had successful individual finishes in the 2015-16 season. Hocker's best finish was at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. The junior placed third overall, while Huang took first place at the same event. Huang was named the 2015-16 West Coast Conference Player of the Year.
Hocker is a junior studying exercise and wellness, while Huang is majoring in accounting and minoring in art.
A total of 828 women’s collegiate golfers were named to the team.
