Sugg drafted ninth in American Softball Association draft

PROVO, Utah – Softball catcher Libby Sugg was selected as the ninth overall pick in the American Softball Association draft by the E1 Pro Ballers of Mobile, Alabama on Wednesday.

Sugg was a standout at BYU, finishing her career with a .354 batting average, 111 runs, 224 hits, 47 doubles, 49 homers and 211 RBI. The 2018 NFCA Third Team All-American was a four-year starter for the Cougars.

In 2018, she was named to the NFCA All-Pacific Region First Team, All-Pacific Second Team and NCAA Eugene All-Region Team as well as All-WCC First Team and All-Academic Team.

The Franklin, Tennessee native made her way up the BYU record book, ranking No. 1 in career sac flies, No. 2 in RBI and doubles, No. 4 in slugging percentage and No. 5 in walks and home runs with four other records in the top 15.
