SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Three BYU softball players were named on the inaugural 2014 West Coast Conference Softball All-Academic Team Friday.

Senior Carly Duckworth, junior Lacey Millett Hofstedt and sophomore Coco Tauali’i were all selected as deserving of the award. Duckworth has been named academic all-conference each year of her BYU career. She maintains a 3.61 GPA while majoring in finance.

This is Hofstedt’s third academic honor. Hofstedt was named a Western Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete in her medical redshirt year and was named to the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Honor Roll last season. Tauali’i was also named to the PCSC Honor Roll as a freshman last season.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

A full list of the honorees can be found at WCCsports.com.
