Cougars Find Success at Weber Twilight Meet
OGDEN, Utah—The BYU men’s track and field team headed up north to participate in the Weber Twilight meet on Wednesday and returned with top marks in seven different events.
On the track, Cade Lindahl won the 200m in 21.70 and Steven Hart pulled in second with a time of 22.08. Jason Hinds also secured first in the 400m, finishing in 48.03.
Ryan Waite and Shaquille Walker finished two-three in the 800m race with times of 1:52.36 and 1:52.59 respectively.
In the 1500m, Ryan Jones took first with a time of 3:54.44 and Taylor Farnsworth finished second in 3:55.78.
Hyrum Iverson grabbed the victory in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 55.14, and Kevin Nielsen came in second, with a time of 56.08, and Jacob Cosby secured another victory for the Cougars in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing the event in 9:50.78.
Rounding off the running events, BYU’s 4x100m relay team of Fanfan Charles, Hart, Hinds and Lindahl also grabbed first place with a time of 41.02.
On the field, Brayden Bringhurst took second in the pole vault, clearing 4.85m (15’ 11.00”), and Kyle Mills took first in the triple jump, jumping 15.05m (49’ 4.50”), with Konrad Rywelski finishing in second with a distance of 13.64m (44’ 9.00”).
The Cougars now look to the Georgia Tech Invitational on May 11-12, their last regular season meet. Because of BYU’s independence, the Georgia Tech Invite takes the place of a conference championship meet this season.
