PROVO, Utah—After strong team performances at their first outdoor home meet, the BYU men’s and women’s track and field teams head back to California this weekend to participate in the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational hosted by UCLA April 12-14 in Drake Stadium.

The women’s team moved to No. 23 in the national rankings, after strong performances from the 2012 national champion Nachelle Mackie and freshman high jumper Lexi Eaton last weekend.

The men remain at No. 26, and hope to make the push into the top-25 with their performances this weekend.

Participants in the meet include athletes from Azusa Pacific, Cal Ply SLO, Cal State LA, Cal State Northridge, Laney College, San Francisco, San Francisco State and UC Riverside.

Events begin on Thursday with the women’s heptathlon at 10:15 a.m. and the meet will conclude on Saturday with the men’s 1600m relay, which is scheduled to begin at 2:27 p.m.

Full results will be available after the conclusion of the meet.
