Institution of Curtis Pugsley Track Athlete of the Year Award
PROVO, Utah--The BYU Track and Field teams are proud to announce the unveiling of the Curtis Pugsley Men and Women Track Athlete of the Year Award.
Curtis Pugsley is a BYU Track & Field alumnus (2000-2004), a multiple All-American and conference champion in the decathlon. A generous donor has funded the award in Curtis’ name and endowed it for a yearly reception and presentation of the award to the top male and female track athlete of the year.
The yearly recipient is determined by a scoring system that combines points scored at indoor and outdoor conference, points awarded for All-American and national champion status, school records and spot on the top ten leader board.
The unveiling event for the award will take place during Homecoming weekend, on Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. MDT, in the Smithfield House Annex. There, not only will the winners from the past 2011 season be awarded, but the winners for the past 20 years, from 1991-2011, will also be unveiled.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP the number in your party that will be attending to ann_haymond@byu.edu.
