COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU senior Oliver Whaley has been selected as the Mountain West Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Co-Athlete of the Week. Whaley shares the honor with Air Force junior Robert Drye.

The product of Kayenta, Ariz., won the hammer throw title at the Aztec Invitational last weekend in San Diego, Calif. In his first competition of the outdoor season, the senior recorded a throw of 62.21m (204-01) in the event.

The mark is the best in the Mountain West this season and also ranks seventh in the NCAA in 2011, according to the website TFRRS.org.
