Cougars Host Tri-Meet
PROVO -- For the second-consecutive week BYU men’s and women’s track teams will compete at home in what should be a fast-paced tri-meet between BYU, Utah State and Weber State on Friday.
“We’re excited to host this next meet,” said BYU women’s track and field head coach Craig Poole. “It will be a nice opportunity to compete against good in-state competition.”
The BYU Invitational Collegiate Tri-Meet will follow a concise format that allows each team to enter three athletes per event.
“The quick pace of this meet makes it easy and exciting to watch,” Poole said.
The throwing athlete’s will be limited to four throws and all events will be in their final rounds.
The meet will begin on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the men’s hammer and women’s long jump events. The one-day invitational will conclude at 7:10 p.m. with the men’s 4x400-meter relay.
