Athletes Get Last Chance
PROVO -- With only one week before the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, BYU athletes will get one last chance to qualify for nationals. This Friday and Saturday a few athletes will compete at the Intermountain Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, and a few will compete at the UW Last Chance Qualifier in Seattle, Wash.
The men's team will send two pole vaulters to the Intermountain Championships. Erik Rasmussen and Matt Barry will compete for a spot at the national meet. Rasmussen has cleared 17-04.75 and Barry 17-01.
The women's distance medley team, which includes Jennifer Rockwell, Aneta Lemiesz, Jaime Cottle and Kassi Andersen, will compete at the University of Washington. The relay team has provisionally qualified for nationals, but this weekend they look to automatically qualify. Sophomore men's distance runner Kip Kangogo will also run at the UW Last Chance Meet.
The NCAA Indoor Championship Meet is March 14 and 15 in Fayetteville, Ark.
