Cougars start Texas Relays with Vorkink in decathlon
AUSTIN, Texas – BYU men’s track and field decathlete Dallin Vorkink began the Cougars’ competition at the 94th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Wednesday.
Vorkink holds a 13th-place position in the decathlon with a score of 3634 after the first five events.
The junior from Kirksville, Missouri shone in the shot put as he finished third with a throw of 14.04m/46-0.75. Only Leo Neugebauer of host Texas and John Murray of Auburn came in ahead of Vorkink.

Decathlon events conclude on Thursday with the 110m hurdles, discus and javelin throws, pole vault and 1500m. The BYU men will also compete in the 400m dash on Thursday at 5 p.m. CDT.
