Cougars set to compete at West Coast Relays, Texas A&M Alumni Muster

PROVO, Utah – The BYU track and field team will compete at the Fresno State West Coast Relays on Friday, April 30 and the Texas A&M Alumni Muster on Saturday, May 1.

Members of the BYU distance, sprints, hurdles and jumps squads will compete on Friday at the West Coast Relays. The meet will be hosted in Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California.

All-American pole vaulters Zach McWhorter and Caleb Witsken will be the only Cougars competing on Saturday at Texas A&M’s Alumni Muster. That meet will be hosted at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas.

The BYU men moved back up to No. 2 in this week’s U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s national ratings. The BYU women remained in the top 25, entering the week at No. 22.

The BYU men’s team currently has the top-ranked 1500m squad, steeplechase squad and 5000m squad according to the USTFCCCA Event Squad Rankings (BYU men’s track and field performance list). The BYU women’s team currently has the top 10,000m squad according to the women’s event squad rankings (BYU women’s track and field performance list).
