Four Cougars Move up BYU Top-10 List
PROVO, Utah – Halley Folsom Walker, Sierra Freeland, Dallin Vorkink and Caleb Witsken all moved up the BYU track and field top-10 record board at the BYU Cougar Indoor Invitational.

DAY ONE
Previously seventh all-time, Freeland moved up one spot on the BYU women’s indoor top-10 list in the women’s shot put with a toss of 15.51m/50-10.75. She is now tied with former Cougar, Petra Juraskova, for the sixth-best shot put mark in BYU history.
Folsom Walker finished with a career-high 3,821 points in the women’s pentathlon, good enough for No. 10 all-time in BYU track & field history. The senior opened the meet with a personal record of 9.20 in the 60m hurdles and added strong performances in the high jump (1.73m/5-8), shot put (11.84m/38-10.25), long jump (5.29/16-8.75) and 800m (2:14.78).
Freshmen Mayci Torgerson and Cameron Bird had strong college debuts, finishing 2-3 in the women’s pentathlon. Torgerson took second with an overall score of 3,549 points and Bird placed third with 3,146 points.
Austin Carter claimed first place in the men’s shot put with a toss of 16.25m/53-03.75 while Sable Lohmeier El-Bakri took first in both the women’s weight throw (16.15m/52-11.75) and women’s discus (45.58m/149-6.5).
DAY TWO
Witsken and Vorkink finished with the seventh- and ninth-highest men’s heptathlon scores in BYU history with 5,423 points and 5,375 points, respectively. The men’s heptathlon started on Thursday with four events before concluding on Friday with the final three events.
After setting personal records in the 60m dash (7.24), long jump (6.57m/21-6.75) and shot put (13.70m/44-11.25) the first day of competition, Witsken started the second day with a career-best 8.34 in the 60m hurdles. He continued to put together the best heptathlon in his collegiate career by setting his fifth personal record of the meet in the pole vault with a clearance of 5.22m/17-1.5.
Vorkink also opened the meet with a personal record in the 60m dash, clocking a 7.41. He tossed a career-best 13.76m/45-1.75 in the shot put before setting a personal record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.34. He capped off the career performance with a personal-best 5.02m/16-5.75 in the pole vault and winning the 1000m (2:59.28).
Cierra Tidwell-Allphin won the women’s high jump, clearing 1.71m/5-7.25 while freshmen Taye Raymond and Camilla Andam went 1-2 in the women’s long jump with marks of 5.64m/18-6 and 17-10.25, respectively. Conner Kennedy had a solid start to his season in the men's long jump, taking second place in the event (7.17m/23-6.25).
DAY THREE
