NEW ORLEANS – The BYU women’s track and field team moved up 22 spots to No. 20 in the most recent U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings on Monday.

The Cougars moved up 22 spots after placing second at the Air Force Team Challenge earlier this month and competing at the UW Invite and Dr. Sander Invitational last weekend. Notable performances include a new school record set by the women’s DMR team and Olivia Hoj’s No. 2 spot on the BYU all-time list after running 9:11.75 in the women's 3000m.

The BYU women’s track and field team currently has nine athletes ranked in the top 20 in each of their respective events. All-American Andrea Stapleton-Johnson leads the nation at No. 1 in the high jump, with Brenna Porter ranked No. 3 in the 500m and Hoj at No. 7 in the 3000m.

The BYU men’s team moved down four spots to No. 13 in the country. The men’s team has four athletes ranked in the top 20. All-American Connor McMillan is the highest rated Cougar at No. 4 in the 3000m. Fellow All-Americans Clayton Young (No. 6) and Conner Mantz (No. 8) are also nationally ranked in the 3000m.
