BYU track and field to compete at Aztec Invitational
PROVO, Utah – BYU track and field will head to San Diego to compete at the Aztec Invitational at the SDSU Sports Deck on Friday, Mar. 23.
“It will mostly be our short sprints, jumps, throws and multi-event groups that will be going to compete in San Diego,” head coach Ed Eyestone said.
Ashton Riner and Paige Cuthbertson will compete in the javelin. Riner threw her first javelin in a BYU uniform last meet and earned herself the No. 7 all-time BYU record. Eyestone looks forward to her continued success this weekend.
Kassie Nagel will have her first meet of the season competing in the shot put.
Siale Vaitohi-Teaupa finished second in the hammer throw last meet and hopes to earn a regional qualifying mark this meet.
Blake Steeves will open up in the long jump. The senior was a regional qualifier last year.
Kevin Nielsen will compete in multiple events including the pole vault. Nielsen typically competes in multi-events and is working to improve select events this weekend.
Keesha Miller and Haley Rogers will compete in the short sprints.
