COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. and SEATTLE — Fan Fan Charles made his debut performance in the 60 meters at the Air Force Collegiate Open in Colorado Springs.

The Cougars split up and half of the team traveled to Seattle to compete in the Husky Classic. The Husky Classic is traditionally a great venue for long distance runners, while the Air Force Collegiate Open is better designed for power events.

“There were a lot of improvements and good marks today,” hurdles and jumps coach Mark Robison said. “So we are just looking ahead to the MPSF meet and what’s ahead. There were a lot of really good performances today.”

Charles has been suffering from an injury all season and performed today for the first time in the 60m dash with a time of 6.91 and barely missed qualifying for finals.

Bejon Bryant finished in third place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.27 which is his new season best.

Sam Rockwood and Zachary Blackham both excelled in the high jump earning second and third place, respectively. Rockwood had a mark of 2.11m (6’11”) and Blackham had a mark of 2.11 (6’11”).

Braydon Bringhurst has been performing consistently, earning third place with a mark of 5.45m (17’10.5”) for the third week in a row. Alex Ashworth had his best mark of the season in the long jump with a 7.12m (23’4.5”).

Zachary Stetler finished in fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 17.52m (57’5.75”). Joseph Stull finished in sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.50m (57’5”) respectively.
