Men's golf ranked fifth in WCC preseason coaches poll

SAN MATEO, California -- Following the loss of senior All-Americans Peter Kuest and Rhett Rasmussen, BYU men's golf is ranked fifth in the 2020-21 WCC preseason poll. 

Pepperdine, currently ranked No. 1 in Division I men's golf, was picked to win the conference with eight first place votes. San Francisco edged nationally ranked San Diego (No. 25) for second place in the poll and garnered one vote for first place. 

The preseason poll was selected by a vote of the conference's nine head coaches. Coaches were not able to vote for their own teams and student-athletes.

The Cougars are expected to face No. 1 Pepperdine in The Goodwin (March 25-27) and Western Intercollegiate (April 12-14) regular season golf tournaments prior to the WCC Championships (April 29-May 1).
