BYU head coach Dave Rose
“I’m really happy for our players. It was a hard fought game. We were good from the start and we had to overcome quite a few challenges: we had foul trouble and we didn’t shoot the ball particularly well from the perimeter. But I thought we guarded well, I thought we rebounded well and I thought we got a lot of help from a lot of different guys.”

On his 200th career victory
“There are so many people responsible for the wins. I think it’s interesting that one guy gets all the credit for that because I’ve had so many great coaches and the players have been terrific and committed. I care way more about the players who have been here, the teams and the chemistry than about the wins.”

“It was good to bounce back like that after losing a heartbreaker. Coach said the character of a team is how fast you can get back up after you’ve been hit (knocked down).”

On coming back after a loss against Saint Mary’s
“We didn’t talk about it. We just wanted to go get the next win and get the loss off our backs. After the game today we celebrated a little bit in the locker room. It’s a big deal for coach [200 career wins] and we’re all proud of him.”

San Diego head coach Bill Grier
“They’re good. They did a really good job in transition. With the mistakes we made, they scored nearly every time in transition and we just didn’t do a very good job on the offensive end. I thought we did well early against their man defense. We were getting good shots and executing. We got off to a great start but then they went to zone and we didn’t do very well.”
