Davies named WCC Player of the Week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named BYU senior forward Brandon Davies its Men's Basketball Player of the Week award-winner for Dec.17, 2012. Davies – a two-time recipient of the award last season – is a three-time WCC Player of the Week honoree.
Davies scored a career-high 33 points and added eight rebounds and one block to lead BYU to its first road win of the season, a 78-68 victory at Weber State. The win ended Weber State's 20-game home winning streak, the fourth-longest home streak in the nation. Davies hit 14 of 17 from the field and 5 of 6 from the free throw line in the Cougars' victory.
For the season Davies is averaging 19.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.3 steals per game. He is shooting .560 from the field and .679 from the free throw line. Davies was named preseason All-WCC and to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50.
