Tyler Haws got to 20 points with a 3-pointer at the 16:10 mark in the second half. Haws finished with a career-high 32 points in the game. Haws has now had 6-straight games with 20-plus points. Only Devin Durrant, with 7, started the season with more 20-point games in a row.
Tyler Haws’s 32 points is the most for a BYU player since Matt Carlino scored 30 at San Francisco on 2/16/12.
Brandon Davies and Brock Zylstra also scored in double digits with 12 and 14, respectively. Zylstra’s points were a season high.

That’s enough games in the season to realize the team has a great will to win. It didn’t come easy tonight. Those guys are extremely confident and have a unique style that makes them very dangerous.”

“I thought we made enough plays in big situations to get the win and it’s a real step forward for us. I thought we did a much better job late in the game to control their lane penetration.”

“A really positive thing for our team is how we responded to their runs. We got ourselves in a situation with just under four minutes where we were down and needed a huge basket. We found a way to get the basket then a stop and a rebound before scoring again. Those are winning plays. You need to make winning plays. I felt like that was a big part of our game.”

“I was trying to make the play that was there tonight and be aggressive. Going into the game our plan was to attack on every possession and I was able to make a few plays going down the stretch to help my team.”

“It feels great to play at home and be able to win. I feel like our team is on a roll now and I like where we are at.”
