  • BYU defeated Iona 78-72 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton. The Cougars tralied by as many as 25 in the first half at 49-24 and by 18 (62-44) in the seocond half. BYU’s come back was the largest deficit overcome in NCAA Tournament history. Noah Hartsock led the way with 23 points, including the go ahead three with 2:25 remaining.
