BYU Head Coach Dave Rose

“I think that this was a really good game for us. I thought we were better defensively late in the shot clock, but I think the pace rushed us in the first half. We didn’t always make the plays in transition, but the second half we got out and pressured them a bit more and we got the game going the way we wanted it to go.”

“Our guys really look to getting the ball to our post players and they played well for us tonight.”

“We started really sharing the ball. Passing up a good shot for a better shot has kind of been our motto and it makes it a lot easier to do that when your guys are making their shots. You’ve got to have confidence in the next guy and once we got rolling the confidence built and we felt better about making that extra pass.”

BYU Player Quotes

Matt Carlino

“We were only up by a few points, but I felt like we should have been up by a lot more so I came in and pushed hard.”

“They battled early, but after awhile they fatigued and we kind of jumped on them after that.”

“Yes, I was in foul trouble and didn’t focus in as quick as I should have, but luckily our bigs were playing well.”

Brandon Davies

“I thought we were all playing together and getting open shots. We were making plays. We have a lot of confidence in our guys that we’ll get shots.”

“It’s all about effort. I just try and play hard and whatever happens happens, but as long as we play hard and give a good effort we try not to focus on individual points.”
