Emery to Play in Jimmer's All-Star Game
PROVO, Utah — Jimmer’s All-Stars Presented by Zions Bank has today announced that Fredette’s former backcourt mate, Jackson Emery, will make his only post-BYU game appearance later this month as part of the special exhibition showcase. Emery chose not to pursue a career in professional basketball but will lace up his sneakers one last time in front of fans with Fredette, Kemba Walker, Nolan Smith, Kawhi Leonard and other top rookies on Sept. 22 in Provo.
A four-year letterman at BYU, Emery concluded his career as the all-time leader in career steals in BYU and Mountain West Conference history. Ranked seventh in the nation in steals per game during his senior season, Jackson also earned MWC Defensive Player of the Year accolades. A three-time MWC All-Defensive team honoree, Jackson also was an offensive threat for BYU, scoring in double figures 26 times and adding four 20-point games in 2011.
