Fredette to Compete in American Century Championship
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – Jimmer Fredette will continue his whirlwind tour around the country when he competes at the American Century Championship this weekend at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. The star-studded field includes, among others, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Aaron Rodgers and John Elway.
Since completing his collegiate career with a trip to the Sweet 16, Fredette collected several National Player of the Year Awards, completed workouts for five NBA teams, co-hosted a camp in Lehi, Utah, was drafted 10th and traded to the Sacramento Kings, attended the ESPYs and won Collegiate Male Athlete of the Year and will now compete in the celebrity gold tournament.
The 22nd annual American Century Championship is a 54-hole modified Stableford format that features sports and entertainment celebrities. Fredette is the first college athlete that has been invited to play in the Championship.
Fredette will tee off on Friday at 11:45 a.m. PT with Tim Tebow and Herm Edwards. Coverage of Friday’s round will be televised live on VERSUS from 2 to 5 p.m. MT. Coverage of the second and third rounds on Saturday and Sunday will be televised live on NBC from 1 to 4 p.m. MT.
On Thursday, Fredette addressed the media. He discussed the ESPYs, the Draft and his golf game.
