Collinsworth Granted Medical Hardship Waiver
PROVO, Utah – BYU forward Chris Collinsworth received a medical hardship waiver today from the Mountain West Conference and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
A native of Provo, Utah, Collinsworth will be a sophomore for the 2011-12 season. He played in nine games and started four during the 2010-11 season, averaging 5.9 points and 5.6 rebounds. Collinsworth injured his knee and underwent season-ending surgery in January.
Collinsworth played his freshman season in 2007-08 when he averaged 3.2 points and 4.8 boards while helping the Cougars to an MWC regular season title and a 27-8 overall record. He then served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia.
