Fredette Earns All-America Honors

PROVO -- FoxSports.com and Yahoo! Sports named BYU senior guard a first-team All-American on Monday.

The Glens Falls, N.Y., native has led No. 8/8 BYU to a 28-3 record and a share of the Mountain West Conference regular season title. Fredette leads the nation in scoring at 27.9 points per game and adds 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. One of the nation’s leading three-point shooters, Fredette averages 3.2 threes per game while shooting .404 from downtown.

Second among BYU’s all-time leading scorers, Fredette has scored 20-plus points 27 times and 30-plus points 11 times this season. He has posted season highs of 47 points, nine assists, five steals and seven threes.

Fredette has helped the Cougars to a top-10 ranking for eight-straight weeks and the No. 1 seed in the Conoco MWC Tournament. The Cougars play the winner of Wyoming vs. TCU on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT. in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
