Postgame Quotes

BYU head coach Dave Rose

"The game was exactly how we thought it would play out as far as how physical it was and how competitive it was. Both teams played with a lot of emotion."

"Both teams were extremely active on the boards and it was a really important game. Both teams played that way and I was glad we were able to make a few plays down the stretch and were able to win the game."

Brandon played with a lot of energy and a lot of passion. Their frontline is very good. They were physical with him but he just kept playing. He got himself to the free throw line and converted. The way he rebounded was impressive."

Colorado State head coach Tim Miles

“Referring to the amount of offensive rebounds given up and fouls committed by his team; “I think both were a by product of us extending our defense against Jimmer. When you get extended you are often vulnerable to fouls and rebounds. We usually don’t run around the floor like that but I think it was worth it tonight. We held Jimmer to nine makes on 27 shots and forced seven turnovers, so I would say that is a pretty nice job.”

“I love our guys’ effort. We went out there and battled and battled. You can’t get those guys down. I think what really hurt us was seven turnovers in our last 20 possessions. Emery made three great defensive plays there at the end to turn the game.”

“I think that our guys did a great job giving themselves a chance in this one. We had plenty of opportunities but just never could take full advantage.”
