No. 16/18 BYU basketball will take its 10-0 record to Anaheim where it will face UCLA in the John R. Wooden Classic on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2:30 p.m. PT in the Honda Center. The Cougars are coming off an 87-65 victory over Arizona at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City behind Jimmer Fredette’s season-high 33 points and a career-high nine rebounds. Fredette, the USBWA and Dick Vitale’s National Player of the Week, is averaging 23.7 points, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals to lead the Cougars. UCLA has won two-straight games against Cal Poly and UC Davis and is 5-4 on the season. Tyler Honeycutt contributes 15.3 points per game to lead four players who average double figures. As a team the Bruins average 72.6 points per game and shoot .462 from the field and their opponents average 67.2 points and shoot .421 from the field. UCLA’s Last Outing — Men’s Basketball Gets Back-to-Back Win Against UC Davis
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Malcolm Lee scored 15 points and UCLA defeated UC Davis 74-67 Monday night to win its second in a row.
Reeves Nelson added 13 points. Tyler Honeycutt had 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Joshua Smith had 10 rebounds for the Bruins (5-4), who had gone without consecutive wins since Nov. 15-16.
Honeycutt and Smith helped the Bruins dominate the boards, 44-29, on a night when they had 14 turnovers.
Freshman Josh Ritchart scored a season-high 23 points and Joe Harden added 16 for the Aggies (4-6). They fell to 0-2 against Pac-10 teams this season, having lost to California by 12 last week. Mark Payne had 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Saturday’s game will be the 23rd meeting between BYU and UCLA. The series is tied at 11-11 with UCLA winning the last meeting 82-69 in Los Angeles. The Cougars hold a 2-1 advantage in neutral site games.
