COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU senior Jimmer Fredette has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through December 12. This is the ninth career weekly accolade for Fredette and second this season.

Fredette led the Cougars to a 2-0 record in a pair of neutral-site outings last week. In an 86-58 win over Vermont in Fredette's hometown of Glens Falls, N.Y., he posted a game-high 26 points, five assists and one steal. The senior guard followed that performance with a season-best, and game-high, 33 points in an 87-65 victory over Arizona in Salt Lake City, Utah. He added a career-high nine rebounds, three assists and one steal, while going 11-of-22 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and 8-of-9 (.889) from the free throw line. For the week, Fredette averaged 29.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals.
