SI.com Names Fredette to Preseason All-America Team
PROVO -- For the sixth time this fall, BYU guard Jimmer Fredette has been named a first-team preseason All-American, most recently by SI.com.
Fredette had previously been named a preseason All-American by the Associated Press, Sporting News, Athlon Sports, Blue Ribbon Magazine and Dick Vitale. The senior from Glens Falls, N.Y., averaged 22.1 points and 4.7 assists last season while leading BYU to a 30-6 record and a trip to the second round of the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
SI.com on Fredette:
“Fredette, who pulled his name out of the NBA draft just before the deadline in May, could be the most lethal -- and efficient -- backcourt scorer in college hoops. Last season he dropped 49 on Arizona, 45 on TCU, and 37 on Florida in the opening round of the NCAAs.”
The first-team also includes Jacob Pullen of Kansas State, Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler of Duke and Harrison Barnes of North Carolina.
