Kyle Collinsworth on Basketball
Where would you be without basketball?
I probably wouldn’t be in school. I feel really blessed I was able to get a scholarship to be able to go to BYU and play basketball and get my education at the same time.
Why basketball?
When I was really young, I think it was fourth grade, I scored 45 points in a game, and from then on I thought that I could really do this for a while. I really enjoyed it. My brother, ever since I was little, had me doing layups on the hoop when I was two years so I just grew up with the game.
Why do you love basketball?
It’s my life. Basketball, since I was little, has been a part of me so I really enjoy it. I don’t know what I’d do without it. It’s got me so far in life and I’ve accomplished a lot through it.
Best family basketball memory?
We always watch basketball. I enjoy watching March Madness. Now I guess I’ll be playing in it.
Any advice for young players?
Everyone’s skill set is different. Just make sure you maximize our skill level with hard work. Work hard so that at the end of every day you can’t say that you didn’t work hard.
